Our History of Care

Bradford Ecumenical Home was built in 1989 to fulfill our community's desperate need to provide a home for our seniors. Hannum Memorial Rest Home and Dresser Memorial Presbyterian Home for the Aged were former nursing home facilities in Bradford. A devastating fire at Dresser Memorial Home in 1986 drove many residents to seek shelter at other nursing homes. Hannum Memorial accommodated many of these residents. With a strong desire to reunite the Dresser Home residents, Bradford Ecumenical Home was constructed and opened its doors on August 5, 1989. On opening day thirty-five residents from Hannum Memorial moved to Bradford Ecumenical Home. A week later nine other Dresser Home residents joined their family and friends at Bradford Ecumenical home. Bradford Ecumenical Home is now a recognized leader in specialized programs developed specifically for aging adults.
