Staffing
Sunnyview Home has a Medical Director and licensed physicians who make rounds weekdays to Sunnyview residents. They are on call 24 hours a day and on weekends. Sunnyview Home exceeds the state requirements in the number of required staff. Registered nurses are in the building daily along with LPNs and CNAs. Administrative staff is available at all times to assure quality of care and allow for availability to families.
Social Services
The social workers at Sunnyview are present to provide support to residents and families in adjusting to the changes occurring. Social workers help alleviate any problems that may arise while a resident is residing at Sunnyview.
Environment
Sunnyview has 2 floors of 60 bed units all semi private rooms. Sunnyview has a 36 bed secured Memory Care Unit all rooms are large semi private rooms. And our new 20 bed private rehabilitation suites completely furnished. Each spacious room has a window overlooking the lovely outdoor surroundings. Each unit has its own comfortable lobby for residents and families to enjoy. Sunnyview also has 2 hospice suites made so loved ones can comfortably stay with the resident and 2 bariatric rooms. All areas are handicap accessible.
Rehabilitative Care
Sunnyview employs the services of physical, speech and occupational therapists to assist in the healing and comfort of our residents. The goal of Sunnyview's therapeutic team is to strive for increasing and maximizing the potential of each resident.
Memory Care
Sunnyview's dedicated and caring staff are trained to understand and assist our residents and their families in coping with dementia. Our focus is to make a positive difference in the life of your loved one with compassionate care, assistance with activities of daily living, attention to their medical and nutritional needs.
Meals
A Registered Dietician plans all menus. Choices are available at each meal and the Dietary Staff aims to provide a variety of foods. Residents may choose have their meals in an attractive formal dining room on the first floor, the unit dining room, or in the comfort of their own rooms. Family members are encouraged to join them.
Activities
Activities are available daily for Sunnyview residents. Our Activities Department has group and individualized activities throughout each day, seven days a week. Murphy, is our golden retriever who visits with the residents several days a week. Charlotte, our adopted Cockatoo lives in our Activity Room and loves attention. Our pet therapy program is an important part of our activity planning. Our spacious activity room is also available for family functions.
Visiting Hours
Sunnyview Home welcomes visitors 24 hours a day, though we recommend the hours from 8:00am to 8:00pm. This permits time to meet the resident's morning and evening care needs. Visitors include young children of all ages and family pets.
